Video Games

This section of website is about the presentation of the most impactful Star Wars video games for me.

Specifically, for each game, my memories, impressions and overall thoughts are expressed.

Battlefront 2015

battlefront-2015.jpg

I was playing this game between 2015 and 2017. What I liked was game maps design, fotorealistic sound, fotorealistic graphics and fun game modes such as Hero Hunt or Walker Assault. What I didn't like was not sufficient count of maps in relation to the purchase price, lightsaber combat clunkiness and lastly total absence of story campaign.

I was absorbed into this game because I loved being a soldier on the field and being able to turn a tide of the battle. I also really adored game mechanic of level tokens, which were placed on the battlefield randomly and allowed me to play as battle vehicles (AT-ST, X-Wing etc.), acquire rocket launcher or even play as the hero/villain, who had 3 special abilities usually.

Battlefront II 2005

battlefront-II-2005.jpg

I was playing this game between 2010 and 2014. What I liked was glorious galactic conquest mode, large variety of infantry classes (sniper, heavy, medic etc.), boarding capital ships and lastly the multiplayer, specifically game servers host rooms with flexible customization (map, game mode, restriction for heroes/villains etc.). The only thing I didn't like was restricted time for the usage of hero/villain on the battlefield, where enemies had to be killed to prolong remaining time.

I was amazed by this game back in the day due to very dynamically changing battlefield with large number of infantry units clashing between themselves at the same time and ability to board together with teammates into vehicles (LAAT gunships, TX-130 Saber tanks etc.).

Battlefront II 2017

battlefront-II-2017.png

I was playing this game between 2019 and 2022. When this game launched in 2017, I was pissed off by the microtransactions EA included, so I didn't play the game. However after continuously watching news about reworks, patches and revamps developers made, I decided to finally play this game. The breaking point for me was Clone Wars DLC, which started redemption arc of this game for me.

What I liked was revamped lightsaber combat, which included features such as stamina management, counter attacks etc. Next thing was game mechanic of star cards, which allowed to flexibly customize player's heroes, starships, reinforcements etc. The last thing I liked was inclusion of Co-Op, which allowed to experience the same feeling as in the multiplayer with chosen teammates, but with enemy's reinforcements replaced by AI. What I didn't like was mediocre story campaign and occasional bugs happening during playtime.

I was amazed by this game due to how the developers were continuously trying to add the new content and revamp features, which was redeeming this game's bad launch for me. In the present, despite game's end of support in 2020, I consider this game worthy successor of Battlefront II 2005.

Jedi Academy: Knights of the Force

jedi-academy-knights-of-the-force.png

I have been playing this game since 2018. To clarify, I have downloaded the mod into the game Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. What I like is massive amount of characters from different eras to choose from, flexible customization of characters behavior with aligned faction and lastly the complex lightsaber combat system, which to this day I consider the best combat system I have ever seen in any Star Wars video game. The only thing I don't like is the game crashing when too much characters are spawned on the same map.

The game has amazed me due to sandbox nature it has. I really love to let my imagination run wild and create my own battles, scenes, scenarios etc.

Jedi: Fallen Order

I was playing this game in 2020. What I liked was the story and the main protagonist, who seemed sympathetic to me. Next thing I liked was the exploration of different areas and planets. The last thing I liked were skill trees, which allowed me to enhance my character (lightsaber skills, Force skills, survival skills). What I didn't like was the limited customization of suits my character was able to wear.

I was amazed by this game due to the fact that this game had interesting story after a long time since Star Wars KOTOR series. I also loved the lightsaber combat, which had very Dark Souls feel.

Kinect Star Wars

kinect-star-wars.jpg

I was playing this game between 2011 and 2013 on my Xbox 360. What I liked was the realistic immersion into the role of Jedi through motion capture provided by Kinect. I also liked boss fights, specifically the lightsaber blocking mechanics. Lastly, I was impressed by the story's length and frequently changing locations during story's playtime. What I didn't like was the story's simplicity and occasional motion capture controls clunkiness.

I was amazed by this game back in the day due to the fact that I always wanted to feel like a force user and wield the Force like a badass. I really adored the ability to deflect blaster shots, lift enemies into air, force push them or dash to them with my lightsaber.

Lastly, in the video down below originating from this game, I present to you the greatest music I have ever heard. I personally tried this section of the game and it was really hilarious.

Star Wars KOTOR

star-wars-kotor.jpg

I was playing this game so many times, minimally 8 times, starting from 2015. What I liked was the story's feel, which resembled the Hero's journey concept as seen in the Star Wars original trilogy movies. I also really liked the alignment system and many dialogue choices available for choosing. Lastly, I adored the progression system, which consisted of developing and improving force powers, feats, attributes etc. Honestly, I think this game didn't have any flaws from my perspective.

I was amazed by this game and I am still amazed due to the greatest story twist I have ever experienced, even greater than the twist from The Empire Strikes Back movie. I didn't see it coming and it affects me to this day. Lastly, I was amazed by how all my choices from playthrough affected the ending of this game. Of course I tried the dark side and the light side ending, both are great.

Lastly, in the video down below starring the character originating from this game, I present to you the HK-47, my companion in this game and the most sarcastic and badass robot I have ever encountered. I remember having conversations with him during playtime and it was always delightful to listen to him.

Star Wars KOTOR II

star-wars-kotor-II.jpg

I was playing this game so many times, minimally 5 times, starting from 2015. What I liked was that the story didn't feel like classic Star Wars. Instead it was dark, complex, intriguing and provoking and I didn't know if I am hero or villain. I also liked interesting dialogues occurring between my character and my companions, dialogues had depth and interested me. Lastly, I was impressed with the addition of new force powers, feats etc. when compared to game's predecessor. Honestly, the game didn't have any flaws for me.

I was amazed by this game and I am still amazed due to the character named Kreia, my companion from this game. Kreia for me was the real highlight of the story. Dialogues with her were very deep-provoking and insightful and what she told my character really interested me. By the way, Kreia was Revan's teacher, so I understand how Revan's opinions were formed.

Lastly, in the video down below starring Kreia, I present to you the collection of dialogues with her from this game in the context of Star Wars universe. I recommend focusing on her voice and images in the video, not the music.

LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game

I was playing this game between 2011 and 2013. What I liked was game levels design, unlocking new LEGO characters and lastly the replayability of game levels with different characters. What I didn't like was that boss fights felt boring and repetitive.

I was amazed by this game back in the day due to my obsession with LEGO and the ability to experience Star Wars movies prequel trilogy in the form of video game.

LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars

lego-star-wars-clone-wars.jpg

I was playing this game between 2013 and 2015. What I liked was game's hubs system, where I could spawn at and explore different hubs (separatist dreadnought, republic venator). Next thing I liked were logical puzzles included in game levels. Last thing I liked was the feature of ground assaults, which allowed me to choose planet and faction and then capture building areas on the battlefield, where I could build shield, gun turret, factory for reinforcements etc. against enemy faction. The only thing I didn't like was the absence of online multiplayer. I think ground assaults would benefit from it.

I was amazed by this game back in the day due to my obsession with LEGO and the ability to experience Star Wars Clone Wars TV series in the form of video game.

SWTOR

swtor.jpg

I have been playing this game since 2013. What I like is advanced gear system, overarching story and large amount of lore to be learned and explored on different planets in Star Wars galaxy. The major thing I like is feature of Flashpoints and Operations, when group of players cooperate together to overcome certain phases and boss fights during those activities. What I don't like is outdated graphics due to this game releasing in 2011. I think this game would benefit from graphics update.

The game has amazed me due to the open world setting in the Star Wars universe and the ability to cooperate with other players and have fun with them.

As a matter of fact, I did join the czech game's guild called Templáři in 2014. We were doing lots of activities including Operations. The members of the guild were meeting on Teamspeak back in the day, especially when guild raids for Operations were occuring. However, the guild ceased to exist probably in 2020 due to the migration of guild members to new czech guild called Czech Alliance. I was part of the guild Templáři until 2017, because I wanted to take the break from this game. I returned in 2020 and then I got notified of current guild's state from former guild member. So I joined the new czech guild called Czech Empire / Czech Alliance, whose member I am up to this day. If you want to know more info about mentioned guilds, you can visit this website https://www.beastriders.cz/spynet.php

Lastly, in the video down below originating from this game, I present to you one of the guild raids I have participated in with my republic character called Ranzom. This raid was the Operation and it was organized by our former guild leader from Templáři named Ashadak. For Operation generally, it is essential to know tactics and strategies in order to succeed. My task as DPS was to generate highest damage output on boss, in other words, ensure he loses health as quickly as possible.
